According to the report of Business Insider, Pichai has said that Google has made changes in the last few years to make the company efficient and simplify its structure. Google will now cut jobs in positions like manager, director, and vice president.
Quoting a Google spokesperson, the report said that some of the 10% jobs were converted into individual contributor roles, while some roles were eliminated.

According to reports, Google had cut 200 jobs from its core team as a part of the cost-cutting restructuring process in May 2024. Apart from this, some jobs were transferred abroad.
