TN Manoharan’s Life and Educational Background
IDBI Bank Chairman TN Manoharan was born into a freedom fighter’s family in April 1956 in Rajakoil village, Vellore district, Tamil Nadu. He did a post-graduation in commerce from Sri Venkateswara University and a law degree from Madras Law College.

Under his leadership, Satyam Computer Services merged with Tech Mahindra. For this, he was awarded the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year in 2009 and the Padma Shri in 2010. He also wrote a book on this experience called The Tech Phoenix: Satyam’s 100-Day Turnaround. He has also contributed to committees of RBI, SEBI, IRDA, and CBDT. In 2009-11, he was the chairman of the Accounting Standards and Taxation Committee of CII.
