Priya Nair to Lead Hindustan Unilever: There has been a major change in the management of the FMCG sector’s giant company, Hindustan Unilever (HUL). The company has appointed Priya Nair as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD). The company said that Rohit Jawa will step down from the top role in the company on 31 July. After this, Priya Nair will take over.

Priya Nair’s appointment will be effective for five years from 1 August 2025. Nair is currently the head of Unilever’s beauty and wellness department. Nair will also join the board of directors of HUL and will continue to be a member of the Unilever Leadership Executive (ULE).

Who is Priya Nayar?
She has been associated with the Unilever Group for nearly 30 years. Currently, she is President, Beauty & Wellbeing at Unilever, and is managing a portfolio of €13 billion (i.e. more than ₹1.15 lakh crores). Priya has led brands like Dove, Rin and Comfort. She has also completed the Executive Leadership Program from Harvard Business School.
Priya Experience: As Global CMO, promoted AI, digital commerce and social first marketing. Achieved growth in Home Care (South Asia) unit through sustainability, value innovation and cost cutting. Experience in India as well as China, Europe and other markets.
About Rohit Java Package
The total remuneration of Rohit Java, the current Managing Director (MD) of HUL, stood at Rs 23.23 crore in FY 2024-25. Java’s annual package includes a salary of Rs 3.65 crore, allowances of Rs 11.45 crore, a bonus of Rs 3.78 crore and long-term incentives of Rs 2.76 crore.

HUL’s turnover grew by 2 % to Rs 60,680 crore in the financial year ended March 31, 2025. Company’s chairman, Paranjape, said – Responding to shareholders’ concerns about the company’s slow growth, the company’s chairman, Paranjape, had said recently- We would not like to grow at 2%, but the fact is that we have strengthened our competitiveness. At the same time, we have taken steps to strengthen our business and build capabilities. This bodes well for us for FY 2025-26 and beyond.
