The country’s Home Minister Amit Shah said in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday that a cooperative taxi platform like Ola or Uber will soon be launched. Two-wheeler, three-wheeler, and four-wheeler drivers will be able to register on the cooperative taxi platform; bikes, cars and rickshaws will be registered in the taxi service.
Now, when the government launches it, it will be cheaper, due to which companies like Ola, Uber, and Rapido will face tough competition. Complete information has not been revealed yet as to when it will be launched, how it will work. But its arrival will provide some relief to the customers.

In the Lok Sabha, Home Minister Amit Shah said that the central government is working on the slogan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Sahkar se Samriddhi’. This is not just a slogan but the Ministry of Cooperation has been working for the last three and a half years to implement it at the ground level.
A big cooperative taxi service will be started in the coming months. The drivers will get direct benefits from this. Why is this step being taken?
In December 2024, the government received a complaint that cab companies ‘Uber’ and ‘Ola’ were charging different fares from customers using iPhone and Android phones. After which CCPA issued notices to both companies.But rejecting these allegations, Ola had said that the company has a uniform pricing structure for all customers. At the same time, Ola also said that there is no discrimination based on the operating system of the user’s cell phone for the same ride.
