Foreign nationals staying in the US for more than 30 days must register with the federal government. Failure to comply is a crime, resulting in fines and jail. President Trump has a clear message for illegal aliens: leave immediately and self deport.

In a post headlined ‘Message to illegal aliens, ‘ the Homeland Security Department has asked foreign nationals living without the approval of the authorities to self-deport themselves.

- If a person leaves the country on his own, then this is a safe way, and he can choose the flight as per his convenience.
- Noncriminal immigrants who voluntarily return can take with them the money they earned in the United States.
- Legal entry: Those who voluntarily leave the country may be able to leave the door open to legally enter the U.S. in the future.
- Subsidized flight options: Those who cannot afford to travel can also avail of the option of subsidized flights.
US Immigration Ultimatum: Exempt from New Rule
- This decision will not directly affect those living in the US on an H-1B visa or student visa, but it is a clear indication that strict action will be taken against foreign nationals living illegally in the US.
- If a person loses his job while on an H-1B visa and does not leave the US within the stipulated time limit, legal action can be taken against him.
Therefore, students and H-1B visa holders need to ensure that their stay in the US is fully under the terms and conditions.
Fine: The department said that as soon as foreigners who did not inform the authorities in time are identified, they will have to leave America immediately. If someone has received the last message to leave the country and you still stay after that, then a fine of 998 dollars (86 thousand rupees) will be imposed every day.
Jail: If you do not self-deport even after making a claim, then a fine of 1000-5000 dollars (86 thousand to 4.30 lakh rupees) will be imposed. If you fail to self deport, you can also be sent to jail.
Banned in USA entry: Foreign nationals who do not register themselves in time may be barred from legally entering the United States in the future.
