Lenskart’s Telangana Factory: Lenskart, an eyeglass manufacturing company, is investing Rs 1,500 crore in the construction of the world’s largest eyewear manufacturing factory in Telangana. This plant will generate approximately 2,100 jobs.

Lenskart co-founder Amit Chaudhary told today i.e. Sunday (December 8) that along with eyewear, lenses, sunglasses, accessories, and other products will also be manufactured in this factory. From this manufacturing facility, Lenskart will also export products to South-East Asia and the Middle East.

In the program, Amit Chaudhary said that the company was exploring possibilities for this in many states. But he was impressed by the growth of Telangana and has signed this deal with the government.

In 2010, Piyush Bansal, founder of Lenskart, along with his friend from Kolkata, Ameet Chaudhary, planned to create a company that could change the habit of people of India not wearing glasses. He found another co-founder, Sumeet Kapahi, on LinkedIn. Sumeet had left his job in an eyewear company a few months ago.

Together, the three formed Value Technology in 2010, which had separate e-commerce websites. It had Lenskart, Jewelkart, Bagkart and Watchkart websites. After some time, seeing the potential in the spectacles market, all three started focusing only on Lenskart.

The company started the world’s first automatic manufacturing unit in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. At present the company has manufacturing units in Delhi, Gurugram as well as in Zhengzhou, China. The company is going to set up a new plant in Bengaluru at Rs 1600 crore. Production will start in the next 18 months.

    Started to Call center for glasses To sell spectacles in the country, Piyush Bansal came up with a scheme named ‘No Question Asked Return Policy’. This was a policy under which the customer could return the glasses within 14 days if he did not like them. He was not asked any questions.

Not only this, they also created a separate call center for spectacles, where customers could ask their questions. Due to this policy, customers were added rapidly and as they got a better experience, the number of customers increased due to word-of-mouth publicity. The company has 70 lakh customers including from India and abroad.

Lensekart Launched its first store in Singapore in 2019.

This year, 10 lakh people downloaded the company’s app. By 2024, there will be more than 2000 stores in the country. Apart from this, stores have also been opened in the Middle East, America, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia. More than 10 thousand employees work in the company.

Lenskart has received the Startup of the Year award for its strong revenue growth and for becoming a big brand in a short period. According to the Economic Times, the market cap of Lenskart is more than Rs 47 thousand crores. It is estimated that by the end of the financial year 2025, its revenue will cross Rs 8 thousand crores.
