Tata Group N Chandrasekaran said in his letter, ‘Our group is planning to create 5,00,000 manufacturing jobs in the next half-decade.’ Chandrasekaran said these jobs will be generated from investments made in the group’s factories and projects across India. With this investment, new-age products like batteries, semiconductors, electric vehicles, solar equipment, and other critical hardware will be manufactured.

Apart from these manufacturing jobs, the group will also create jobs in other sectors including its retail, tech services, airlines, and hospitality industries. Chandrasekaran also spoke about the group’s initiatives in the Artificial Intelligence sector.

Tata Group to Create 5 Lakh Jobs: Seven New Manufacturing Plants Have Started

Construction of more than seven new manufacturing plants has started, including India’s first semiconductor plant in Dholera, Gujarat, and the new semiconductor OSAT plant in Assam. Electronics assembly plant at Narasapura, Karnataka, automotive plant at Panpakkam, Tamil Nadu, and new MRO plant at Bengaluru, Karnataka.

He said that Tata Group will also set up new battery cell manufacturing factories in Sanand, Gujarat, and Somerset, Britain. Tata Group has inaugurated the C295 Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Vadodara, Gujarat, and started solar module production in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. The chairman of Tata Sons has expressed excitement over the opportunities ahead in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the manufacturing sector.

There will be huge investment in our factories in the next half-decade. Batteries, semiconductors, electric vehicles, solar equipment, and other hardware will be manufactured in these factories and projects, which will play an important role in the country’s economy in the coming days. These jobs will be brand new, Apart from these, we are also creating job opportunities in many other sectors and services. In which there are retail, IT, and hospitality sectors.

There are many opportunities for in-direct jobs in sectors like semiconductor manufacturing. Chandrasekaran said, ‘Such steps are encouraging for our group and India, but more importantly, they give hope to the one million youth who join our workforce every month.

Thankfully, manufacturing has powerful multiplier effects. There are plenty of opportunities for in-direct jobs in sectors like semiconductor manufacturing. N Chandrasekaran said, ‘AI and manufacturing are two sectors that are bringing together economic opportunity and social progress.’ He highlighted that global supply chains are shifting their base to India.

Chandrasekaran said that Ratan Tata’s demise this year is a big loss, he was such an ideal leader, whose place no one can replace. He wrote, ‘Although it is difficult to start the new year without the late Tata, it is comforting to know that the business to which he dedicated his life continues to flourish. Major strategic decisions taken with his encouragement are paying off, especially in the high-tech industry and manufacturing where our group is continuously expanding.
