World’s Worst Airline: The global airline industry has been ranked again, with AirHelp Inc. unveiling its 2024 report on the best and worst-performing carriers. The rankings, based on factors like on-time performance, customer claims for disruptions, and passenger feedback on food, comfort, and service, highlight the highs and lows of air travel this year.

Among Indian carriers, IndiGo, the country’s largest airline by market share, ranked poorly at No. 103. The low ranking is attributed to its underwhelming performance in customer satisfaction and flight disruption claims.

Airhelps Chief Executive Officer Tomas Pavlison said on the list of the World’s best & World’s worst Airline services released on Tuesday that The purpose of releasing this list is to give a snapshot of the airlines’ performance.

It is analyzed with the hope that achieving a place on the list will encourage the airline to improve its service and continuously listen to the feedback of its passengers.

IndiGo, India’s largest airline by market share, ranked at No.103. The low-cost airline was ranked poorly due to underwhelming performance in customer satisfaction and flight disruption complaints.

Sky Express was ranked 100. Followed by Air Mauritius, Tarom, IndiGo, Pegasus Airlines, El Al Israel Airlines, Bulgaria Air, Nouvelair, Buzz and Tunisair.

According to AirHelp Inc., Brussels Airlines was ranked as the number 1 airline in the world. Qatar Airways secured the second spot which had dominated the rankings since 2018.

Despite facing operational disruptions, American Airlines and United Airlines continued with their good performance globally and were ranked third and fourth respectively. Delta Air Lines, which faced a major outage in July, dropped to No. 17, as there was a reduction in its claims processing score. Canadian carrier Air Transat made its debut on the list by ranking at No. 36.

The World’s Worst Airlines of 2024: Who Didn’t Make the Grade?

At the bottom of the rankings is Tunisair, coming in at a dismal No. 109. Joining it in the bottom 10 are a mix of national and low-cost carriers, including Buzz (a subsidiary of Ryanair), Bulgaria Air, Pegasus Airlines, and Air Mauritius. JetBlue and Air Canada, two major North American carriers, also ranked poorly, landing in the bottom 50.

When rankings are based purely on customer opinion, Tunisair remains at the bottom, followed closely by Ryanair and Air Lingus.
