Warren Buffett Donation 2025 :-
Warren Buffett has donated an additional $6 billion of Berkshire Hathaway shares to the Gates Foundation and four family charities, his largest annual donation since he began donating his wealth nearly two decades ago.
A big donation:-
The donation of approximately 12.36 million shares of Berkshire Class B shares brought Buffett’s donations to charity to more than $60 billion.
How many shares were given to whom
Buffett donated 9.43 million shares to the Gates Foundation, 943,384 shares to the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, and 660,366 shares to each of the three charities run by his children Howard, Susie, and Peter.
*These charities are- Howard G. Buffett Foundation, Sherwood Foundation and NoVo Foundation. However, Warren Buffett still owns 13.8% of Berkshire’s shares.
5th richest billionaire-
According to Forbes magazine, Warren Buffett had a net worth of $152 billion before Friday’s donation. He was the 5th richest person in the world. Buffett will be in sixth place after the donation, which is more than the $5.3 billion he donated last June.
•He also donated an additional $1.14 billion to the family charity in November 2024.
Donating since 2006-
94 year Buffett, began donating his wealth in 2006. He changed his will last year and gave 99.5% of his remaining wealth after his death to a charitable trust overseen by his children.
