Indian Railway New Rule 2025: What are Railway Plans

According to the media report, Indian Railways is preparing to improve its ticketing and reservation process, including the preparation of train charts as well as other measures. According to sources, the new system will finalise passenger charts eight hours before the train’s departure.

Modern Passenger Reservation System Coming Soon

Apart from preparing the initial charts, the Railways will introduce a modern Passenger Reservation System (PRS) by December 2025. The project is being executed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS).
If implemented, the new PRS will be capable of booking over 1.5 lakh tickets per minute, almost five times the current capacity of 32,000 tickets per minute.

The ticket enquiry system will also see an upgrade, with enquiry capacity increasing from 4 lahks to 40 lahks per minute, improving access to real-time booking information for millions of passengers.

Train Tickets will be Expensive From 1 July.

Let us tell you that recently, there has been news that Indian Railways will increase the second-class travel fare by half a paisa per kilometre beyond 500 km from July. This is the first fare hike since 2020.

Indian Railway New Rule 2025: Changes in Price in July

For express trains, the hike will be 1 paisa per kilometre, while AC classes will see a hike of 2 paisa per kilometre. There will be no change in the prices of second-class train tickets and MST for travel up to 500 km. However, if the distance to be covered is more than 500 km, then the passenger will have to pay half the amount per kilometre.
